Appreciate diikuti oleh gerund saat gerund merujuk ke subjek dari suatu klausa, tetapi diikuti oleh kata sifat kepemilikan (possessive adjective) + gerund saat gerund tidak merujuk ke subjek. Appreciate juga dapat diikuti oleh kata benda.
