Being in a spotlight isn’t as pleasant as you think it is. Being famous certainly seems to have it’s perks : plenty of adoring fans, the ability to get anything that you want on demand, and a hefty bank account doesn’t sound bad either.
We might think that being famous is great, but actually there is a lot of pressure and challenges that can make lives quite difficult for public figures.
Being a public figures is impossible to have a private life. It means that your life is everybody’s life. Imagine you want to go shopping or grab a coffee and having to worry about people running after you to take a pictures. You can’t just walk comfortably in public places without paparazzi following you. Everybody wants to know your entire life and some people often make fun of it. People criticize your life is the worst part of being a public figures. They usually interfering your life problem while they only know a little part of your problem. You can’t wish for privacy when you become famous.
When you become public figures, you have to worry about everyone who are close to you. It is possible for them to betrayed your trust. You don’t know which one is your real friend or someone who is trying to use you. You don’t know who to trust, or who’s going to be the next one to reach out to the gossip magazines and spill your beans. Public figures have to be careful with people near them.
Fame is fickle. If you mess up, your fans may lose respect for you in a heartbeat, you may not get the roles you want anymore, and others can replace you. Being famous means you can’t mess up for just a tiny mistake.
Some famous people do very really great with the attention, and even use it for good by helping out the disadvantaged or drawing attention to causes and charities or adopting a child from a 3rd world country. Others, though, fall into drugs, make stupid decisions with their money, pull self-destructive antics, and do all kinds of dumb stuff that only prove that they don’t deserve any attention. Being famous could make you or break you.
Another problem with being famous is constantly being in the public eye. You are in every magazines, tv, and social media. People would judge you and commented about you, some of their comment could be rude and hurt your feelings. Being afraid of making mistakes and be yourself simply because worry you will be judge by everyone is scary.
When you become famous, you have to socialize with other celebrities. You may think that it would be exciting to be around them, but it wasn’t as great as you think it is. Let’s be real 90% of famous people are close-minded ones. In the end, you’d have to deal with their unrealistic personality.
As a famous person, you tend to travel a lot for long period time. It means you have to be away from family and friends. Sometimes, you can’t even meet them on holidays because you have a lot more job than usual on that term. The worst part is when you are feeling down, there won’t be someone as close as your friend and family to cheer you up. Being famous could feel little bit lonely sometimes.
In conclusion, there are advantages and disadvantages for being famous. Become famous means you have to deal with paparazzi, rumors, traveling all the time, having trust issues, celebrities’ life style, etc. Even there is also positive side for being famous, you might also have to think twice about all things that you have to deal with when you become famous.
