Have you found your passion? If you haven’t, maybe you should consider taking one of the extracurricular activities offered by your school. These activities can be an excellent way of finding your true self. Through them you can discover new talents and also find out what you are really passionate about.
Unfortunately, not every young person is able to find their passion through extracurricular activities. This often happens because they choose the wrong activity. Sometimes young people choose an activity just because their friends like it, not because they like it. Then they end up doing an activity that doesn’t suit them at all. So it is really important to choose an activity that you really like and that interests you. Also, don’t be afraid to try new things. For example, if you love singing, you could join your school choir.
In my opinion, I think that extracurricular activities can influence us and our friends to become better people. I recently saw a great example of this. The theater club in my school performed a stage play, with a strong moral value. They did a fantastic job of inspiring the audience. I spoke to one of the group members who said, “At first, I thought the activity would be boring and wasn’t really looking forward to it. However, it turned out to be really fun. I even discovered my passion to be an actor.”
With a little bit of research, I discovered that most students do in fact choose their extracurricular activities based on popularity. They look for the activities that their friends are taking and the ones that are considered cool. Personally I don’t think this is a very good idea, because if you do something which doesn’t really suit you and which doesn’t really interest you, you will end up becoming uncomfortable.
On the other hand, if you choose the right activity, the one that interests you, you might just find your passion and discover some hidden talents you didn’t know you had. Some young people find themselves becoming more expressive, confident and creative thanks to choosing the right extracurricular activities. Extracurricular activities are also a great way to meet new people and make new friends that have similar interests.
But what if there isn’t an extracurricular activity that suits your interests and personal preference? The problem is, there are so many activities which don’t get any recognition or attention from the schools. There are many activities which aren’t considered by the school and therefore no clubs exist for these activities. If this is the case in your school, then why don’t you start making your own club? For example, if you have a strong interest in science and love making things go boom, then why don’t you ask if you could borrow the school’s science laboratory for a couple of hours a week and start your own experiment club?
So, have you found your favorite extracurricular activity yet? If not, then what are you waiting for? Remember, be confident and don’t forget to try new things.
