Most of our homestay programs are located in smaller suburban communities outside of New York City. It’s an unforgettable immersion experience—to live daily life like a typical American with the care support of a welcoming and friendly family. You’ll get to do all the things Americans do in the summer: cool off at the beach, play sports in the neighborhood park, hike in the nearby countryside, shop at the local mall, take trips into Manhattan to eat out or attend a baseball game... Alternatively, you can live at EF’s fabulous international campus in Tarrytown, located about an hour up the Hudson River from Manhattan. Here you live in a student residence, take your meals in dining hall, study in fully equipped classrooms, have access to excellent sporting and leisure facilities. It’s a real slice of American college student life!

Your teachers love to get you outside the classroom to use your English in everyday situations. So weekly study visits will take you to local museums, art galleries, historical sights, businesses—even the police or the fire station! A highlight will be giving back to your hosts by doing a community service project. And when lessons are over for the day, get ready for some serious fun, New York-style: beach trips, barbecues, sports tournaments, bowling nights, pool parties—and the EF Disco!
