Local EF staff are particularly experienced with providing the structure and support necessary for younger visitors. Our Global Village here offers a good mix of nationalities, ensuring you will easily make friends with fellow students from around the world. Your teachers will put your English in action with study visits to the area’s best cultural sights, like Weymouth Museum whose paintings and prints covers topics ranging from the Great Western Railway to Royal Weymouth; and Portland Museum, a refurbished 17th-century thatched cottage full of maritime artifacts, scale models, maps, and shipwrecked treasures; and the Magistrate’s Court to learn about British law and watch real court cases in session. The weekly Activity Board will fill your freetime with beach volleyball tournaments, international soccer matches, and EF’s own Loony Lympics (be prepared to get a little silly, dirty and wet!). Outings and excursions will take you in-line skating and skateboarding at one of the UK’s top extreme sports venues; on a visit to Octagonal House, whose spring was visited by kings and queens because it was thought to have healing powers; and to Brewer’s Quay, a labyrinth of paved courtyards and cobbled streets packed with specialist shops, cafes and attractions.
